Journey through the most extraordinary marine experience on Earth. From prehistoric seas to glowing deep-sea abysses, Singapore Oceanarium brings the full story of our oceans to life — across 22 breathtaking zones.
Singapore Oceanarium, located at Resorts World Sentosa, is one of the world's largest and most immersive oceanariums. Originally opened in 2012 as S.E.A. Aquarium, it underwent a sweeping transformation and relaunched in 2025 — now three times larger, with 22 meticulously designed zones spanning the full story of life in our oceans.
Housing over 100,000 individual marine animals representing more than 800 species, the Oceanarium is far more than an aquarium. It is part aquarium, part museum, and part science centre — blending live habitats, cutting-edge interactive technology, life-sized animatronics, and immersive storytelling to create a truly unforgettable journey.
From the very first drop of water where life began, to the crushing pressures of the deep trenches, to hopeful stories of ocean conservation — every step through the Oceanarium is a step deeper into our planet's most vital ecosystem.
The Oceanarium's zones are grouped into six thematic chapters — each one a deeper dive into the story of life in our oceans, from prehistory to the present day.
Begin where life itself started — a single drop of water. The Drop of Water zone reveals how microscopic plankton power the entire ocean's food web, displayed beneath a glowing dome. Journey onward into Ocean Wonders, where thousands of sea jellies drift in one of the world's largest Kreisel habitats.
Travel back to prehistoric seas where giant marine creatures once ruled the depths. Life-sized animatronics of Dunkleosteus and Xiphactinus recreate extinct predators, while real fossils and interactive discovery points reveal the dramatic evolution of ocean life. Live habitats feature Australian Lungfish, Arapaima, and Horseshoe Crabs.
Discover Singapore's own coastal biodiversity — from mangrove forests to sandy shores. Explore the Spirit of Exploration zone featuring the Jewel of Muscat, a full-scale replica of a 9th-century Omani dhow. Walk above the exhibit on the suspended Pier Adventure web structure for a thrillingly different perspective.
The heart of the Oceanarium — a breathtaking 36-metre wide, 8.3-metre tall viewing panel into the Open Ocean. Witness manta rays, sharks, and over 50,000 schooling fish in a single awe-inspiring panorama. Coral Gardens showcases a towering live coral display alongside moray eels, giant clams, and technicolour reef fish.
Descend into the ocean's twilight and beyond. Encounter a life-sized Triton submersible, explore deep-sea habitats with shipwrecks, and witness a life-sized whale fall skeleton in the Whale Fall and Seamount zone. Life in the Deep reveals creatures glowing with bioluminescence in one of Earth's most extreme environments.
Return to the surface with a new perspective. The Hallway of Hope shares uplifting stories of ocean conservation, letting visitors make their own pledge. Immersive projections reveal how small actions can lead to significant change. End your journey inspired, informed, and ready to be an ocean advocate.
The Oceanarium offers an array of expert-led programmes designed to deepen your connection with marine life — from behind-the-scenes tours to hands-on conservation workshops and unforgettable animal encounters.
An elite guided tour of the most iconic zones, including behind-the-scenes access to the Open Ocean habitat from a bird's-eye view. Includes an intimate encounter with Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins led by marine specialists — perfect for curious minds who want to go far beyond the surface.

New to diving? Take the plunge with a beginner-friendly PADI programme alongside marine life in the stunning Open Ocean habitat. Experienced divers can earn their PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Certification diving alongside a diverse array of shark species. These dives offer an experience few people in the world ever get to have.
Designed for younger explorers, the Little Ocean Experts programme combines crafts, storytelling, and marine-themed activities to spark a lifelong love of the ocean. Conservation workshops, fossil excavation masterclasses, and guided educational tours make the Oceanarium one of Singapore's most engaging science learning destinations.
Singapore Oceanarium goes far beyond display. Recognised by the world's most respected marine and wildlife institutions, it upholds the highest standards in animal care, research, education, and conservation — working daily to protect the ocean's future.
The Singapore Oceanarium Research and Learning Centre, a Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy building, serves as a hub for education, marine research, and conservation — fostering collaborations with local universities and marine experts worldwide.
